Watch on Youtube.com

This video contains 3 aerial flights. The first one is at a park on Palm Ave. The second one is at Western Regionals Little League Park. The third one is by Glen Helen Park. I was able to film a train as it passed by.

Using the Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition camera on a DJI Phantom Quad Copter. 1080p, 60 FPS, pro tune. Used iMovie to edit the video and the music was found on soundcloud.com If all goes well, the video will survive the youtube copyright challenge. If not, I will post again without the music.

This video was shot with the Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition in 1080p 60 fps protune mode. 9 minutes of footage took about 3 GB of disk space. I used iMovie edit the film along with Garage Band to provide the audio.

Aerial footage over San Bernardino, Ca using a Go Pro Hero 3 HD 720p 120fps and DJI Phantom Quad Copter

Just got the Go Pro Hero 3 Black Edition Camera, charged it up, updated the software and attached it to the DJI Phantom Quad Copter. I read that 720p video at 120 fps would give me the best results in video capture. Reduces Jello effect and improves on stability of video. It was a windy day, at dusk. I had no time to lose, so I rushed the charge on the camera (2 bars) and decided to take it for a spin. I did fly in ATTI mode, which helped reduce the Jello effect. I noticed that the props showed up in the video. I also had to verify that WIFI mode was turned off on the camera to prevent interference with the transmitter. Now I just need a calm day, around 12:00 pm and a good area to fly and I should be able to get great footage. I am so happy with this quad copter and camera. Can’t go wrong for the price.

Watch in youtube

Just modified the DJI Phantom to allow GPS/ATTI/OFF feature along with MCI FLight Mode.  I noticed a smother flight, and since the wind has calmed down, a much smother view when watching the footage.

Lunch Cast – Aerial footage over Las Vegas NV.

Monday, April 8th, 2013

Youtube link

Footage taken over a park in Las Vegas, NV. using a DJI Phantom Quad Copter and the Go pro Hero 3 camera. Winds were around 15 mph, which accounted for the unstable video. This footage was taken at 1080p, 60 fps. This helped with eliminating the Jello effect when filmed at 30 fps. I used iMovie to edit the footage and added music. Hope you like the video. Please like it if you do. Thanks for watching.
