Back Yard IOC Flight in San Bernardino, Ca.

Watch on youtube

This is my 3rd flight with the Gimbal and Fatshark installed. I am attempting to use the IOC features to improve my flights. One of the shots I am looking for is to do a complete circle around an object such as a tree. I tried the different modes, but I still don’t have a handle on it. Instead I decided to turn the remaining flight into a FPV flight following the streets in my neighborhood.

The Phantom, Lost in flight Aug 26, 2013

I just finished installing the Upgrade Kit, Gimbal, and Fat Shark FPV system on the Phantom. This was the second flight with everything installed, I almost lost it all due to the weather, and my lack of experience. Chalk that flight up to another learning experience. Don’t fly in the clouds.

The Phantom disappeared from sight. I used the RTH Failsafe to get the Phantom back. And that was after upgrading the Phantom with the Gimbal and Fat Shark FPV goggles.

I decided to try night flying with the quad copter. I kept the settings on the camera the same as the previous video, which is 1080p, 60fps, protune, medium fov. It came out better than expected. Let me know what you think.

For fathers day we went to visit friends in Highland on our way to my parents in Yucaipa. I decided to show them the DJI Phantom Quad Copter and how the GoPro Hero3 B.E. Camera gets mounted on the Quad Copter. Using the modified mount that I made, I was able to take more video in the vertical mode. Using the 1080p 60fps Protune Medium FOV settings, I was up and way.
