Ocotillo Wells, Ca – Aerial shots over the Pumpkin Patch with the DJI Phantom Quad Copter

Watch on Youtube

Our trip to Ocotillo Wells turned out to be a great one.  We setup camp around 12:30, Friday after noon.  The sun was shining in all its glory, the wind was calm and the temperature was a warm 80 degrees.  We found our usual spot off of Holly road, and to our surprise, almost no one was there.  On Saturday, we took a trip to the Pumpkin Patch.  Its a great spot to learn a lot about geology.  Rocks growing in the the shapes of pumpkins.  Posted signs explain the phenomenon.  This aerial footage was shot with a GoPro Hero 3 Black Edition camera attached to the DJI Phantom Quad Copter.  The settings on the camera were set to 1080p, 60 frames per second, and narrow field of view.  I have the Fatshark video transmitter installed with the Attitude goggles so I can see the footage being recorded in real time.  I edited the footage with iMovie on a Mac Mini computer.  Music was provided by iLife, and Youtube.
